For the U.S. Air Force, an electrical service was being repaired and upgraded, and AC Lopez Construction needed a new 1600A main switchboard and a 400A panelboard under one contract.
A 1600A UL 891 low-voltage main switchboard in three sections: 480Y/277V 3-phase 4-wire, silver-flash copper bus, a Siemens WL 1600A main breaker with an LSIG trip and Dynamic Arc Flash Sentry for arc-energy reduction, feeder breakers from 90A to 400A, and a 65 kAIC rating, in a NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure. A 400A panelboard was built and shipped with it on the same contract.

Engineered, fabricated and assembled under one roof in Jurupa Valley, California.
DEI’s approved drawings for the switchboard date from April 2026, and the order was placed in June 2026. Both units cleared assembly and QC in August and shipped together in late August 2026: about 12 weeks from order to shipment. The switchboard’s three sections left crated and stretch-wrapped on a flatbed.
A 1600A main switchboard with arc-energy reduction on its main breaker, and a 400A panelboard on the same contract, shipped together to a secured federal site about 12 weeks after the order.
